How the East Tennessee Trout Fly Fishing Series is built — and the standard every water is held to.

This series is built on a simple conviction: that the trout waters of East Tennessee reward the angler who studies them. Each volume takes a single river or creek and works it in full — the geology and the hydrology, the history and the hatches, the access and the tactics — so that a stranger can arrive prepared and a regular can fish it better. The voice throughout is that of someone who has stood in the water at first light and learned these things the slow way.
